My book reading goal for 2025 was set at 12 books. Much to my surprise, I've just finished book number 19 and it's only June! I think I've well and truly reignited my love for reading. I've been reflecting on the last couple of weeks where I've felt genuinely tapped out. Tapped out from the kids. Tapped out from work. Tapped out by life's demands. I've also had some personal things I've been dealing with that have taken a lot out of me emotionally. It's meant that a lot of my Prose & Fable business energy has been lacking. What I've come to realise, though, is that it's okay. It's okay I've barely posted on social media and haven't actively been a cheerleader for my beautiful story. I haven't actively pursued wholesale opportunities or meticulously worked on my website. I haven't even updated my finance spreadsheet! Instead of beating myself up about it, I have given myself the grace to sit in the "not doing." Happy Mother's Day 🧡 Becoming a mum myself gave me a whole new perspective on my own mums journey through motherhood. She taught me lots of things that I hope to impart to my own children, including: 🍂 A love for gardening and growing your own food 🍂 A love of music (I'm pretty sure I knew every single Kiss song by the age of 6) 🍂 A love of learning and reading 🍂 She showed me what it was to work hard 🍂 She encouraged me to reach for the stars 🍂 We always ate dinner at the table, and you shouldn't wear shoes inside... ...I mean, these are just the tip of the iceberg. So thank you, mum, for always being my sounding board, for being just a phone call away, and for all those years of helping me to grow and learn. I love you 🧡
